HARKHAM ESTATE

Honest to its origins. Made by hand.Made for time

Wine That Roams Free

Harkham is a small family-owned winery in the Hunter Valley, crushing 20–25 tonnes of fruit each year.

Since the first vintage in 2005, the focus has been on making wines that are honest to their origins,  wines whose personalities roam free.

To us, wine is a living thing. A snapshot of a particular vineyard, in a particular year, made from the nutrients in the soil, the sun, the rain,  the entire living environment in which the grapes were grown. Not a manufactured product, but a product of nature.

Where the wine is made,  and best enjoyed.

the Cellar Door

The cellar door, restaurant, and wine bar are the heart of the Harkham estate. Set among the vines in the heart of Pokolbin, the cellar door is where you can taste the current vintage straight from the source – the wines poured by the people who make them, in the place they’re made.

The restaurant and wine bar carry the same philosophy onto the plate. A short, seasonal menu built around what the land is offering, paired with the wines you’d struggle to find anywhere else.

Whether you stay for an hour or an afternoon, the estate is best understood when you’re standing in it.

our philosophy

A Minimalist Approach

The vineyards are farmed sustainably. The fruit is handpicked to ensure the highest quality. Inside the winery, no chemical additions. No flavour adjustments. No filtration. No fining. Through this minimal intervention, the wines reveal the terroir-driven flavours the Hunter Valley is renowned for – pure, honest, and entirely their own
